Rumah Berkelanjutan was originally established in 2008 as a foundation, formally incorporated through the notarial deed of Sabaruddin Salam, S.H. In 2020, the organization underwent a strategic legal restructuring, reconstituting as an association under the name Perkumpulan Rumah Indonesia Berkelanjutan, as recorded by Notary Ervina Ida Wahyuni Adam, S.H., M.Kn. While its official legal title was updated, the institution continues to operate under its public designation, Rumah Berkelanjutan.

The transition in 2020 represented a pivotal milestone in the organization’s evolution. During this period, the founders reaffirmed their commitment to institutional strengthening, issuing a renewed mandate to advance sustainable development with a primary focus on social, environmental, and cross-cutting themes.
